Romanian War Debts to US - World War One

It is not well known nor mentioned in a number of recent historial works on Romania, that the U.S. provided war loans to Romania during the War. These amounted to $36 million (equal to about $500 million in today's terms). Repayment requested by the U.S. was initiated by Prince Bibesco as Minister to the United States then by in 1925 by Nicolae Titulescu on an official visit to Washington, D.C..
