Book Launch – Dan Dimancescu – Alianta – Strengthening the Romanian American Alliance

Alianta co-founder and board member Dan Dimancescu has announced the launch of “Oil Stories” and “Romania ’38-’39“: two new books that share snapshot insights into the the history of Romania.

One features special moments and personalities to describe the country’s oil industry from its origins to present times. The other focuses on two dramatic years, 1938 and 1939, that saw Romania swept into the grips of Nazi Germany while enjoying new wealth from a surging economy.

Both books, short and well illustrated, are eye-openers to anyone curious to know more Romania. Each is a reminder, too, of America’s business, military, and cultural presence over more than 125 years since Standard Oil’s first investments in 1906. The author is an Alianta co-founder and also serves as Honorary Consul-General of Romania in Boston.
