“Hand Held’ Film Screening in Boston – Alianta – Strengthening the Romanian American Alliance

“Hand Held”, a powerful film by Academy Award nominated director Don Hahn, was screened in Boston March 27. “It tells the story of photographer Mike Carroll’s exploration of one the most tragic scenes of the 20th century – the Romanian pediatric AIDS epidemic and orphan crisis. Carroll broke the story in The Boston Globe and other media outlets; meanwhile founding the non-profit organization, Romanian Children’s Relief – Fundatia Inocenti to bring aid to the children in front of his lens.

The music for Hand Held was done by Steve Morrell (Woolverine, X-Men) and post-production sound by the team at Skywalker Sound, including Academy Award winning mixer Gary Rizzo (Inception, Dunkirk, The Incredibles, The Dark Knight), and Supervising Sound Editor, Gwendolyn Yates Whittle (Academy Award Nominee for Avatar).
