It’s official! Romanian actors Victor Dorobantu and George Burcea have landed roles in the new Netflix series Wednesday. We couldn’t be more excited for them!

The Addams Family is a 1990 American dark comedy film based on the characters from the cartoon of the same name created by cartoonist Charles Addams. Directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, the original film stars Raúl Juliá as Gomez, Anjelica Huston as Morticia, Christina Ricci as Wednesday and Christopher Lloyd as Fester. The netflix spin-off, Wednesday, centers around the family’s daughter, Wednesday Addams, portrayed in this iteration by actress Jenna Ortega.

Victor Dorobantu will be playing “Thing” and George Burcea has the role of Lurch. They star alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones who plays the matriarch Morticia; Luis Guzmán, paterfamilias Gomez; and Isaac Ordonez as hapless brother Pugsley. Tim Burton is an executive producer and directed four of the eight episodes, helping to shape the overall look of the series.

This is a huge accomplishment for both Victor and George, and we know they’ll both shine in their respective roles. It’s just another example of the immense talent that exists within the Romanian film and television industry. We can’t wait to see what Wednesday has in store for us. We have a feeling it’s going to be a hit!

The series comes out in the fall and you can watch a trailer at the link:
